Logistics / Projection Signs

Projection Signs
for Logistics.

Signs for depots, routes and working fleets. Projection signs present the business name at right angles to the building so it can be read by people moving along the pavement. Their value comes from clear silhouettes, suitable scale and an uncluttered message.

The application

Where it earns its place.

Depot names, gates and goods-in directions must be legible from the route where decisions are made. They are useful for shops, restaurants, studios and entrances that are easy to miss when viewed from the side. Double-sided panels, shaped signs and internally illuminated boxes provide different levels of detail and evening visibility. A street-facing retail-style sign only makes sense here if there is an actual public-facing unit or entrance; site identification may call for a different format.

Depots and distribution premises combine yard approaches, vehicle movement and often limited installation windows.

From brief to upkeep

Details make the difference.

Material choice, fixing and care should follow the conditions of your actual premises.

01 / 04

Specify

Survey the proposed sign position and viewing distance before confirming dimensions and fixings. Powder-coated steel brackets, aluminium or acrylic panels, fabricated light boxes and applied vinyl are common choices. Panel thickness, bracket reach and wind loading influence the specification as much as colour and typography.

02 / 04

Produce

Artwork is prepared for both faces and checked for the viewing distance available. Brackets and panels are fabricated as a matched set, graphics are applied square to the sign shape, and illuminated units are assembled and tested before fitting.

03 / 04

Install

Agree traffic control, working height, loading-bay availability and vehicle downtime before fitting signs or graphics. Bracket positions need a sound substrate and adequate clearance from doors, neighbouring signs and the pedestrian route. Height, projection, access equipment and any electrical feed should be agreed before manufacture.

04 / 04

Look after it

Fixings and brackets should remain secure and corrosion-free. Flat faces can usually be refreshed with replacement vinyl when branding changes, provided the panel and coating remain sound.

Logistics sites need to be found, entered and navigated without mixing visitor routes with goods movements. Fleet graphics also need to remain readable and consistent across vehicles of different sizes.
