Removal & replacement services

A FRESH LOOK FOR YOUR VEHICLE.

Faded vinyl, outdated branding or a completely new design: discuss removal and replacement through one team. We welcome car, van and fleet enquiries across London and within the M25, subject to booking and project requirements.

Car wrap removal

Remove an outdated colour or design, inspect the paintwork and prepare suitable panels for a fresh installation. Factory-finished paint in good condition is generally more suitable than weakened or repaired coatings.

Van wrap removal & rebranding

Update commercial graphics after a logo change, company rebrand or new campaign. Discuss removal and replacement together for a clear, agreed scope of work.

Full vehicle rewrapping

Explore a new colour, finish or custom commercial design after removal. Film selection and coverage depend on the vehicle condition and intended application.

Partial wrap replacement

Replace selected graphics or assess damaged panels without automatically changing the entire wrap. We explain potential colour, gloss and finish differences between older and new film.

Fleet graphics replacement

Plan consistent replacement branding across multiple working vehicles. Discuss artwork, vehicle availability and a practical schedule to limit unnecessary disruption.

How it works

OFF WITH THE OLD.
ON WITH THE NEW.

Removal and rewrapping is two jobs in one. The first decides how well the second performs, so we treat the surface as seriously as the new artwork. See our vehicle graphics and vehicle wraps services for more on new installations.

  1. Removal assessment

We inspect the existing film and visible paintwork, checking for aged vinyl, corrosion, damaged lacquer and signs of previous repairs or resprayed panels. Not every underlying defect is visible before removal. We explain potential risks before work begins; damage-free removal cannot be guaranteed on every vehicle.

  2. Controlled removal

Film is lifted panel by panel using techniques suited to the material and surface. Controlled heat may be used where appropriate. Brittle, cracked or weathered films can take longer to release. Where paint shows signs of weakness, we stop and discuss the next step.

  3. Adhesive residue cleaning

Residual vinyl adhesive is treated with compatible specialist cleaning products and appropriate methods. This helps reduce glue marks and contamination before a new wrap. Results depend on the adhesive, film age and paintwork condition; aggressive cleaning is not a substitute for a suitable surface.

  4. Surface preparation

Suitable panels are cleaned and checked before new vinyl is applied. Paint defects, remaining contamination or repairs that could affect adhesion are discussed first. Unsuitable surfaces may need remedial bodywork before rewrapping can proceed.

  5. New wrap design & installation

Once the surface is suitable and the artwork is approved, we produce and apply the agreed replacement graphics. Options include colour-change vinyl, printed commercial branding, updated logos and partial or full wraps, subject to material availability and the vehicle specification.

  6. Final inspection & aftercare

We check the finished installation, discuss relevant finishing considerations and provide cleaning and aftercare guidance for the selected film. The agreed project documentation confirms any applicable warranty terms.

Adhesive cleaning & paint protection

Removing sticker glue residue from a van after decal removal

Peeling off the old stickers or wrap is only part of the job. Adhesive can remain across the panels, collect dirt and become more difficult to remove as it ages and is exposed to weather. Old lettering outlines may remain visible even after the vinyl has gone.

The right product must be compatible with the vehicle’s paint and coating condition. Unsuitable solvents, abrasive tools, excessive heat or aggressive pulling can damage paint or clear coat. We assess the surface, select an appropriate cleaning method and check compatibility on a small, discreet area before treating larger panels.

Professional adhesive cleaning removes residue from suitable surfaces before fresh vinyl is installed. It cannot repair damaged paint. Some apparent “ghost” lettering is caused by differences in fading or finish rather than remaining glue, so cleaning alone may not remove it.

When paint comes off with the vinyl

The supplied red-van and red-bodywork examples show why removal needs care. Wrong cleaning products can deteriorate a coating, and weakened paint can lift with the vinyl. Repainted panels, poorly bonded coatings and existing damage can also contribute—even when suitable products are used.

These images illustrate the type of damage to look for; they do not establish which product or removal method caused it. If the surface starts lifting, stop and have it assessed. Bodywork or paint repairs may be needed before new graphics can be applied.

Not sure whether your van has adhesive residue or paint damage? Send overall photographs and close-ups using the photo-upload quotation form so we can discuss the next step. An inspection may still be needed before confirming suitability.

Cover & care

Warranties, written per quote

Installation workmanship and manufacturer material warranties are separate. Ask us to confirm any applicable coverage, duration, remedies and exclusions in your written quotation or installation documentation.

Installation workmanship

This concerns how the graphics were fitted. Edge lifting, peeling or bubbling may need assessment to establish whether an installation defect is responsible; coverage is not automatic.

Manufacturer material warranty

This concerns covered defects in the selected film under its manufacturer’s written terms. Product, application, climate and panel orientation can affect coverage. Roofs and bonnets may be treated differently from vertical panels. Material cover does not automatically cover removal, installation or underlying paint.

Conditions to check

Repaired or damaged paint, normal wear, stone chips, accidents, unsuitable cleaning, high-stress recesses and third-party alterations may affect coverage, depending on the applicable terms. Removal can expose existing paint defects or detach weakened coatings.

Warranty terms do not remove or replace your applicable statutory rights. No warranty duration is promised on this page.

Aftercare

Follow the installer's and film manufacturer's curing and cleaning guidance for your new graphics. We pass on the guidance relevant to the materials used on your vehicle.

  • Use suitable mild cleaning products and avoid abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals.
  • Remove bird droppings and other contaminants promptly using the film manufacturer’s recommended method.
  • Keep high-pressure water jets away from exposed film edges and follow manufacturer guidance.
  • Do not pick or pull at vinyl edges; report unusual lifting or bubbling promptly.
  • Follow the specified waiting period before the first wash and any film-specific curing instructions.

Questions

WRAP REMOVAL FAQ.

Can you guarantee removal will not damage my paint?

No. Results depend on the age and condition of the existing film and the paint beneath it. Aged film and repainted or repaired panels carry a higher risk. We assess the vehicle first and explain what we see before starting.

Can you remove a wrap fitted by another company?

Send photographs of each side and close-ups of any cracked or peeling areas so we can assess the existing film and discuss whether removal is suitable.

Can you remove old vinyl glue marks?

We treat adhesive residue on compatible surfaces using appropriate professional products and cleaning methods. The result depends on the film, adhesive, age of the wrap and underlying paint condition.

Why can sticker glue become difficult to remove?

Remaining adhesive can age, collect dirt and become harder to treat after exposure to weather. A compatible product and careful method are needed; aggressive scraping or unsuitable solvents can damage the coating. Some lettering shadows are changes in paint finish rather than glue.

Can the wrong glue remover damage my van’s paint?

Yes. Unsuitable products can deteriorate paint or clear coat, while aggressive removal can lift weakened coatings with the vinyl. Repainted panels and existing defects can also increase the risk. Product compatibility and paint condition must be assessed before removal.

Can you rewrap a car in a different colour?

Yes, subject to vehicle suitability and material availability. We can discuss the new colour or finish and quote for removing the current wrap and installing the replacement.

Can you replace only part of a wrap?

We can assess a damaged panel or an area that needs updated branding. New film may differ in colour, gloss or finish from weathered material, so a partial replacement may not be an exact visual match.

Do you offer van and fleet rebranding?

Yes. We welcome enquiries about removing outdated company graphics and fitting replacement branding to individual vans or multiple commercial vehicles. Scheduling and the agreed scope are confirmed when quoting.

Do I have to rewrap after removal?

Tell us whether you need removal only or replacement graphics as well. We will confirm the agreed scope in your quotation; new vinyl should only be applied to a suitable surface.

How much does wrap removal cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle size, the type and condition of the film, the amount of adhesive left behind and whether new graphics are being fitted. We quote after reviewing photographs or seeing the vehicle.

How long does vehicle wrap removal take?

Timing depends on vehicle size, coverage, film condition, adhesive residue and paintwork. Older or deteriorated vinyl may take longer to remove. We provide an estimated schedule after assessing the project.

How long does a new vehicle wrap last?

Service life depends on the chosen film, surface orientation, weather exposure, use and maintenance. Expected lifespan and manufacturer warranty coverage are not necessarily the same.

Is there a warranty on the new graphics?

Installation workmanship and manufacturer material warranties are separate. Any applicable coverage, duration, remedies and exclusions must be confirmed in your written quotation and the relevant product documentation. No blanket warranty period is promised here.

How should I care for the new wrap?

Use suitable mild cleaning products, avoid abrasive brushes and harsh chemicals, and keep high-pressure jets away from exposed edges. Follow the installer and film manufacturer guidance, including the waiting period before the first wash.

Where is the work carried out?

Our workshop is at UNIT 11, Leyton Business Centre, London E10 7BT. Tell us your location and we will discuss arrangements for your vehicle.

Do you cover locations inside the M25?

We welcome enquiries across London and within the M25. Project availability, workshop arrangements and scheduling are confirmed when quoting.

What should I send for a quote?

Send the vehicle make, model and year, approximate age of the current wrap, any repainting history, your postcode and photographs. Tell us whether you need removal only or replacement graphics as well, and include your new artwork if available.
